Head of Game Design

As a seasoned and innovative Head of Game Design, you will play a pivotal role in driving the creative vision and shaping the gameplay experiences of our titles. With a strong passion for gaming and a proven track record in the industry, you will lead a talented team of designers to deliver high-quality, engaging and memorable gaming experiences. This role demands a blend of creative prowess, leadership skills and a deep understanding of game development processes.

📈 What you'll be doing:

Creative Visionary

  • Develop and communicate a compelling and cohesive creative vision for each project and portfolio overall, ensuring alignment with the game objectives and target audience;
  • Spearhead the ideation process, fostering an environment that encourages innovative thinking and unique gameplay concepts;
  • Partner up with the Product Marketing Lead to co-own and drive product-market fit for our new games through the full cycle.

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Lead, mentor and inspire a team of game designers and artists fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment;
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including artists, programmers and producers, to ensure seamless integration of design elements into the overall game structure;
  • Be the functional lead for Game Design, Game Art and UX.

Gameplay Design

  • Design and refine game mechanics, systems and features that enhance player engagement and satisfaction;
  • Conduct thorough playtesting and gather feedback to iteratively improve gameplay experiences throughout the development lifecycle;
  • Master player motivations and use innovative approaches to identify product-market fit, shape the addressable market and ensure a solid value proposition for our games toward our target audiences;
  • Partner up with the LiveOps Lead and Business Performance Manager to ensure our concepts, player profiles, game economy and monetization strategies are fully aligned with our LiveOps tactics and ensure long-term engagement and monetization.

User-Centric Approach

  • Advocate for player-centric design, understanding player behaviors and preferences to deliver experiences that resonate with the target audience;
  • Analyze player feedback and market trends to inform design decisions and continuously enhance the gaming experience.

Project Management

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive design documentation, ensuring clarity and alignment across the development team;
  • Effectively manage timelines and resources to meet project milestones, identifying and addressing potential roadblocks proactively.

🔎What we're looking for:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in game design, with at least 3 years in a leadership role;
  • Demonstrated success in delivering critically acclaimed and commercially successful games;
  • Strong expertise and deep understanding of a player's motivations;
  • Excellent understanding and hands-on experience with all game design aspects including systems, economy, levels, narrative and social play;
  • Experience with owning the game vision from concept to live game;
  • A strong and diverse portfolio of game design work, highlighting your contributions to successful projects;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate and convey design concepts and ideas effectively;
  • A forward-thinking mindset with a passion for staying abreast of industry trends and a willingness to experiment with new design approaches;
  • Willing to challenge industry norms.

We’re an ambitious team of game developers behind two successful casual mobile games Viola’s Quest and Woka Woka. Our third game, NoNo Crossing, was globally released in 2023. As a picture puzzle logic game, NoNo expands our portfolio beyond the marble shooter category, which has been engaging over 30 million players for years now. We keep our players curious by constantly evolving their favorite casual games. We’re an independent gaming company in Serbia, which basically means we drive our own decisions.
