Frontend Game Developer

Belgrade, Serbia

In this role, you'd work on everything players see and interact with in our games including building UI screens in Unity, animating them, and adding the visual effects that make the experience feel polished.

What you get to do as a Desperado:

  • Implement in-game UI: menus, popups, HUDs — from designs into Unity
  • Build UI animations and transitions that give the game a quality feel: bounces, slides, fades, micro-interactions
  • Add basic visual effects like particles, tweens, the small touches that make a game feel alive
  • Collaborate with artists, designers, and engineers to land the final look and feel
  • Learn from tech artists about pipelines, tools and mobile optimization
  • Grow into deeper topics over time: shaders, performance work, custom tooling

Who you are:

  • You've built visually polished, interactive interfaces in games, web apps, mobile apps, or your own projects
  • Some experience writing C#
  • You notice when something doesn't feel right, and you have the patience to fix it
  • You enjoy building things that other people love to use
  • You ask questions, take initiative, and own what you work on

Bonus points:

  • Experience with Unity (personal projects, game jams, professional work — all count)
  • Background in games or iGaming
  • Experience with animation libraries and tools (Spine, DOTween, Unity Animation)
  • Some understanding of particle systems or visual effects
  • Experience optimizing for mobile devices
  • Familiarity with Git

Portfolio:

This matters to us. Send anything you've built, a Unity project, a web app with great animations, a game jam entry, a React side project, a prototype, even a screen recording of something you made for yourself. We care about how you think about visual implementation.

Who we are:

We're an independent mobile gaming studio in Belgrade. Over the years, our games Viola's Quest, Woka Woka and Nono Crossing have reached tens of millions of players worldwide, and we've got two more in the works. Being independent means we get to follow our own curiosity and make the games we actually want to make.

What we offer:

  • A 4-day workweek (Fridays off)
  • A culture built on curiosity, agility, and ownership
  • Private health insurance, 23+ vacation days, full sick leave coverage, gym membership, and more.
